Here's a photo journal, mostly baby news, with the most recent entries at the top.December 24
Alex spent his first Christmas in Phuket, at a nice resort at the end of Patong Beach, far enough from the red lights that you could mistake them for Christmas cheer if you didn't know better. Bar girls in red miniskirts and Santa hats, the holiday spirit was everywhere. We had a great dinner on Christmas Eve at the hotel's Christmas gala. Santa showed up on a boat, there was a band singing, and then they brought out the King Kong Island dancers for a tiki Hollywood tribute to the South Pacific. The night before, the hotel had a ladyboy cabaret with an oddly made up Marilyn Monroe singing "Santa Baby." Alex didn't get to sit on Santa's lap, but he did ride in tuk-tuks. Poor Alex will be very confused next year. Thankfully he doesn't have much long term memory yet.

Santa left stockings at the beach!

Granny had the honor of delivering the Christmas morning bottle.

Patrick helped Alex with his Christmas morning workout. Oh he loves to jump, especially for the holidays.

Then Gramps took Alex for a swim, but he kept splashing himself in the face with the water.

After all the exercise, Alex had a little lounge in the pool with a nice refreshing pina formulada.

When we got home from the beach, there was a seven-foot-tall monkey sitting on the couch with a Merry Christmas sign. Tommy surprised us with the monkey. He thought he could carry it the one block from the departmet store, but a seven-foot monkey ain't that light, so they had to hail a cab. Now PiLing (the monkey's name) helps with the child care.

On New Year's Eve, Alex opened the last of his presents and posed for the mandatory photo shoot before the tree went back in the box.
